08:44 am: a few accomplishments and a bunch of plans
We've unpacked more than half our stuff (we kinda have to - this house has tons of storage, but it's almost all visible storage (the old house had a big ol' attic, otherwise unusable, that we [stupidly] jammed full o' random stuff).

The nursery's done. The kitchen's 90% done. The dining room's as done as it's gonna be without more storage. The master and guest bedrooms are 75% done. The bathrooms are mostly done. The basement's 50% done (unpacking all the boxes there isn't a high priority). The office is planned, but not done yet 'cause we need more storage (we plan to buy file cabinets this weekend). The books are 75% unpacked, which is one of the more comforting things I've seen recently (although everything's crammed willy-nilly 'cause we don't have time to be o'ganized just yet).

We haven't started the living room, but I consider that the fun one, 'cause that's when we get to unpack the CDs and DVDs that have been packed away. It'll take a while before we get the stereo all hooked up, 'cause it's a pain in the tuchis, and neither of us is adept with it.

The electrician has installed baseboard heat in Teddy's playroom, run the cable from one side of the house to the other, and added an outlet for the deep freezer and lots of light to the basement. He's coming back next week to do GFIs and fix the doorbells. He doesn't like to put in programmable thermostats, so I'll have to find someone else for that.

The plumber's coming next week to fix a vent pipe and install a disposer. He doesn't do tankless hot-water heaters, so I have to find someone else for that.*

The other cable company is supposedly coming on Monday (it was going to be yesterday or Monday, and it sure wasn't yesterday) to hook us up to the interwebs.

We've been to the grocery store, the hardware store, and the bagel store.

I've transferred my prescriptions and completed paperwork for the move, purchase, and sale.

Peter's run at least a dozen loads of laundry. I've organized the kitchen and planned the office and dining room.

We need to buy a bunch of file cabinets, a bookcase, a buffet/sideboard, CD storage (eventually - what we have will suffice for now), desk tops (one for the office, one for the basement), towel hooks, a surge protector, two push plates, spice shelves, a coat rack, and the aforementioned disposer.

I need to call the roofer with questions, another plumber about the hot-water heater, the driveway guy to seal the driveway (seller's paying for that one), the yard guy about what's pre-paid and what we'll have to pay for, a chimney sweep, a handyman, and a massage therapist. Especially the massage therapist.

* Notice a theme here? I'm hoping it's not the general way of the world, Westa Wusta. The electrician is definitely a weird guy, though he does very good work. I gave him a prioritized list, which he's methodically working his way through in the order of his own interest. If any of it were actually urgent, I'd be really pissed off. Fortunately, it's not urgent.

We've put in programable therms ourselves. Easy... except finding a safe place to dispose of mercury-filled old therm.

Since "our room" is 75% done, dd and I are looking at our social calendar (?) to find a time to visit. Maybe hang with Teddy while you and Peter run errands or something like that...

You are so organized(not that that surprises me)...

I miss you!!!!!!

My mom and sister see the most amazing woman in NoHo! I am sure there's closer stuff, BUT she's PHENOMENAL.

I *think* it's Allison Malloy.

In the mean time, there's an Elements about 10 minutes from here, and it'll do fine until I find someone I love.
