07:21 am: my child is crusty
crusty, crusty, crusty

I was so very pleased when he got old enough to pick his own nose (proof positive that parenting has changed me in many and mysterious ways), and yet he does a pretty crappy job of it.

Ugh.

I wholeheartedly support this new-fangled notion of coughing and sneezing into the crook of your arm. If you don't have a handkerchief or a tissue, it's certainly more sanitary than using your hand. But someone failed to think it through.

Children who cough and sneeze into the crooks of their arms leave booger trails all over their sleeves.

And that is completely disgusting.

Yep, motherhood is fun. I haven't picked dd's nose yet (I mean, really picked it) but I have totally wiped her wet juicy runny nose with my bare hands without flinching. I have not, however, picked or wiped my dh's nose. Yet. I heard that one comes later. Yuck.

Her big(ger) ones move right out... or OCD Daddy takes care of them when I'm not looking. She watches me and my famous nose-blowing and imitates it. Guess she gets the boogers out on her own. Or I just don't pay attention to her boogers unless they're in my way (like a runny nose in front of friends or strangers out in public, even if I know she's not sick, others don't like to see runny noses, especially not in Sick Season).

I'd forgotten about OCD Daddy. That would make a big difference. Peter doesn't notice unless it's reeeeally obvious.
