12:30 pm: I'm sorry that you're upset, Mommy
I love that Teddy says that. Love. It. And he is genuinely sorry if I get upset (especially if it's not with him).

When I'm crying or ranting or sniffling or slamming things or whatever, Teddy will come over, give me a hug, and say "I'm sorry that you're upset, Mommy."

If he can keep that empathy and compassion, keep that one little phrase in his vocabulary, he will be ahead of 90% of the men I know... and I know some really wonderful men. Men who are empathetic and compassionate and who know a lot of the Rights Things to Say.

That one right there? GOLD.
