Sorry about the superstitious nonsense, but I could use some luck this month. My DH is being less than dear, my primary vendor is in the throes of a complete screw-up, and my body's falling apart.

OK, my body isn't really falling apart, but I have the tilted disc ("you're at high risk for cataracts!" "WHAT?" turns out I'm at high risk for the ophthalmologist not finding cataracts unless she does extra tests... also turns out her PA is kind of a moron), the foot itchies (got an ointment for that, though the podiatrist seems to have a strange aversion to feet), the body aches (but not as bad! Dorian Gray, eat your heart out!), and I'm fat (no matter what I do, how much I exercise*, how carefully I eat, my weight stays within the same five-pound range... now considering DFC - which is actually unrealistic for me as the sole cook for 2 skinnies and one chubster - or lap-band).

OTOH, Teddy is sleeping through the night again a week after the Endless Sleep Disruption (blackout, Disney, Thanksgiving). Yes, it's probably because of the Lego Star Wars Elephant Tractor bribe, but whatever works.

And my Christmas shopping is done. Still gotta finish the fracking hedgehog mittens and do the cards, but that seems manageable in 24 days. I hope.

If not, your holiday card is going to be late. Sorry.

And I'll still take some luck, please.

* Within limits... I'm not going back to four hours a day. I just can't bear it (even if I could squeeze it in, which I couldn't). So I'll just say "regardless of whether I exercise 5 times a week or none."

I hear ya on the weight thing. I stay within the same 5 pound range - and even when I feel like I'm doing all the "right" things, OR when I'm eating all the Halloween candy, I'm always in the same range. I'm not sure what to do to rev up my metabolism.

Aaron didn't sleep through the night FOREVER. The other boys learned how to sleep once a new baby came around, but Aaron was very resistant to the idea. We bribed him with a light-up light saber (as soon as he earned it, he was right back in bed with us), and with at least 2 or 3 other items that didn't last. So the last time we bribed him (a year or so ago), we told him that we'd take back whatever was the bribe du jour if he reverted. Coming in to snuggle in the morning was fine, but waking us up every night was not. I still get snuggles in the morning, AND I get to sleep through the night :-).

I did manage to go UP 2 pounds, between Thanksgiving and PMS, but came down 3 within a week, so...

Teddy and I co-slept until he was 5 or so and he's been great ever since... until this past weekend. Living at my folks' house for a week, then going to Disney, then back to my folks' house for Thanksgiving (complete with an 8 pm showing of Shrek 3 while I was at my reunion, blargh) completely hosed his sleep schedule.

Fortunately, he stayed in his own bed last night. SUCCESS!

I get the morning snuggles too. They're the BEST, aren't they?
