06:00 am: what we're reading these days
Teddy still loves his Thomas stories, his truck books, the book about the bugs who make a house out of a tennis ball, The Carrot Seed, and various Czech books for which I can't find links, but given his choice, he wants to "read" the insert from Thomas toys (which has pictures of all the Thomas toys) or the latest National Geographic.

I'm delighted that he's so interested in the fish and frankly relieved that he isn't as fascinated by the bog bodies. I'd just as soon delay the explanation for peat-preserved dead bodies for a while. In the meantime, he thinks the pictures are statues and I'm not telling him anything different.

I'm now reading Mistakes Were Made (but not by me), which I find riveting. I'll be writing more about it when I'm done with the book. I've recently finished Leadership Divided, which is pretty wretched but had the distinction of being the only business book I ever read that made me cry. It anchors each chapter with vignettes from a case study of sorts, which I found very compelling. Next up is Buy Buy Baby: How Consumer Culture Manipulates Parents and Harms Young Minds. I've been slogging through some other parenting-type books, but it's slow going.
