at least it wasn't technicolor :
We had a lovely Christmas, starting with stockings and a few gifts at home and followed by much of the day at my folks' house. Everyone was sweet and gracious and generous and all was good. Teddy didn't nap and didn't eat much, but I really didn't expect him to, given all the excitement.
In the few minutes that it took me to unpack everything after we got home, Teddy managed to unwrap and eat most of a large Lindt chocolate reindeer. After that, he wasn't interested in eating anything else.
Oh well, over-indulgence on the holidays is rather an American tradition. Not exactly a healthy one, but once a year is not that big a deal. I can hardly fault the child for loving good chocolate.
Surprisingly, he didn't melt down until it was time for bed. With the lack of food and sleep, I thought we'd be Dealing with Issues earlier in the day. My nephew and I talked about our predictions for the holidays a couple of weeks ago; at the time, I planned to nurse Teddy during the day (which he hasn't done in months). Didn't happen.
We got through the Bob the Builder vs. Fireman Sam vs. Thomas the Tank Engine vs. "The Movie's Name" (the closest thing we have to a DVD like that is "What's the Name of That Song?" which particular Sesame St. DVD was wrong, wrong, wrong). :sigh: A minor skirmish, all things considered.
We brushed our teeth and nursed. Teddy said he had a headache in his belly. We were getting up to get him Tylenol when he barfed all over the landing (and himself and me). He must've lost a couple of pounds in fluid (quite a feat, seeing as he'd eaten no more than 6 ounces of chocolate). Brown fluid.
Yuk.
When I asked him how his belly felt this morning, he said "it's actually very fine."
Well that's good.
