Teddy has taken to saying "what's that?" and getting really, really upset when we don't know to which "that" he's referring. As in:
"What's that?"
"I don't know. What is it?"
"THAT!"
"Teddy, I'm driving, I can't see what you're talking about."
"What's THAT?"
"That what?"
"THAT! THERE!"
A demonstrative pronoun isn't very demonstrative when its referent is unknown, y'know?
OK, so you know and I know, but Teddy has yet to figure it out. And he won't get the chance if I kill him first.
