30 Days of Truth: Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage
Any two consenting adults who wish to get married should be able to get married. That some states (and our country) do not confer this right - and in some cases, specifically deny it - appalls me.
and I don't understand arguments against.
The only one I got was that if we allow gays to marry, then next we'll be allowed to marry our dogs. Isn't that logic the sliding slope or rolling hill or something like that? I just don't see that argument....
I haven't had anyone explain to me any financial reasons and didn't NPH do a singing dancing skit on the financial benefits of the existence of gays? I dunno, for as conservative as I may be on some issues, I am definitely not on this one. It's appalling and sad.

Every one I've heard - every single one - has basically come down to "it's icky." The sentiment is covered in 9,000 different kinds of obfuscating crap, but that's what it comes down to.
I've heard marrying dogs, marrying children, marrying multiple partners, blah blah blah. Strawmen are meant to be burned. BURNED, I SAY.
NO ONE thinks dogs or children are capable of consent (that's why they can't sign contracts, A$$HOLE). NO ONE thinks partnership automatically means conglomeration (the same argument makes as much sense for heterosexual marriage, whose centuries-old history has, let's see, NEVER MADE IT HAPPEN, A$$HOLE).
EXCUSES. Excuses to legalize bigotry. FVCK THAT NOISE.
Sorry for shouting. This sh!t makes me really, really angry.
...and appalled and sad.
