10:16 pm: checkpoint
The conference is almost over, and I'm ready. It's mostly been good - sometimes very good indeed - but I'm exhausted. As an introvert, I find full days (7am-10pm) of full crowds (>2000) exhausting.

There have been some great sessions. The keynotes have been spectacular in general (though the organizers lump together "general sessions" that are two hours long with the most boring speakers at the end - unfortunate). Some of the smaller sessions have been really, really good. Some have been really, really bad. The food is dreadful, yet fattening (just what I need 3 weeks before my reunion, yippee).

Highlights: Bill Clinton, Dean Kamen, John Lithgow. Each fantastic in his own way. Each smart, entertaining, and inspiring.

Peter and Teddy arrive tomorrow and I'm psyched to see them both. Teddy and I hit Legoland Thursday and all of us will go to Disney (looking like Hollywood Studios right now, though I'm concerned Teddy won't enjoy it as much as he would Epcot or even Magic Kingdom, because many of the attractions are shows, not rides) Friday. We'll get lots of time at the pool, lots of time to relax, lots more crappy food.

Wish we had been able to do Disney-type things when you guys were little ....

we got other things!

Theater (see today's post), camping, summer camp. Seems pretty idyllic in retrospect.

And we got to do Liberty Bell, Monticello, Montreal, all that good stuff! I don't think I even had a concept of Disney until I was in college.

I'm so jealous! It sounds like a great conference and a fun time... LEGOLAND!

I'm pretty psyched for that. Conference was good, but I'm glad it's over. Exhausting.
